Tanzania has gained praise for conducting an excellent and honorable audit at the United Nations and entered the world history for the United Nations, for being the first country in the East African region and the third (3) in Africa to be appointed as a member of the Audit Board of the United Nations. United Nations (UNBoA) since the establishment of the Board in 1946. Other African countries that have been members of the United Nations Audit Board are only Ghana and South Africa. The compliments were given yesterday by the United Nations Board of Audit (UNBoA), to the Comptroller and Auditor General of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania (CAG) Prof. Mussa Juma Assad, while Prof. Assad handing over his position as the Mission of the United Nations Inspection Board (UNBoA) to the country of Chile. The handover took place at the Conference Hall located at the United Nations Headquarters building, in New York City in the United States of America after Tanzania completed its six (6) year period from July 2012.
Receiving the congratulations, CAG, Prof. Mussa Assad said that the compliments are not only for him and the CAG office, but they are a compliment for the country of Tanzania, and it is a great honor for our nation in the international fields of inspection following the good work done by the UN.

Tanzania has been a member of the Board since July 2012 until June 30, 2018 after the Comptroller and Auditor General of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania was appointed by the United Nations General Assembly to be a member of the Board on November 11 , 2011, at the 58th Session of the Council. Tanzania cooperated with other members of the Board from England, China, Germany and India for different periods.
